Origin of Waffle Check

In 1971, Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman watched his wife, Barbra, cook breakfast in a waffle tin for breakfast when he had a sudden inspiration. He swapped the batter for rubber, and the waffle-pattern outsole was born. The outsole not only provides traction, durability and traditional Nike style, but also makes you feel confident every day. As for that old rusty waffle tin? Now displayed on a pedestal at Nike World Headquarters.
